Jane & Phil testing the new GPS equipment, having a wander around bits of the campus with known poor reception to test accuracy. The route definitely goes a bit awry through the eastern side of the quad.

Nowhere near enough data points to really make this valid, but it gives some idea of the method. You measure the noise values at intervals along the routeways through the area and then run them through a piece of software which calculates a contour map based on those data. It lets you easily see particularly noisy areas. Plus it looks pretty.
